A quote--what? not appropriate in the title spot. Look, I got 17 minutes left bef the lib closes---oooh, whoppee, they gave me a lib card, they gv me a lib cd for this county....huh, oh get back to "the quote"
"You will make it because you are very resourceful."
ahhhh, I needed that. I knew it, but it's good to hear a total stranger tell you that.
ka-ching: deposits in my strengthening bank account so I won't default on payments to myself....
Yesterday's resourcefulness:
an apptment for my pets for Tuesday (1 mixed lab, 2 cats) for free shelter as long as needed; facility "No More Homeless Pets Atlanta" They'll be re-vac'ed and "fixed"
hus's interview--stayed in the area and hit a local mall and walked, chewed gum and crocheted. Did I trip over the yarn? probably but I step on, ha. Had a young fellow ask me to make him a Jamaician hat--yellow, blk and green. First order while I was walking, chewing, crocheting. Then I wore the quickie beaded shawl out of the mall--uh huh, finished it! I started it in the car on the way to his interview. Huh, nope I wasn't driving and it took 45 mins and I put another 1 hr into it.
Had folks talking to me about my crocheting--I'll have to get some quickie business cards made up with my cell number. Oh, so much to get done yet, smile.
Met a very sweet lady in Walmart who decorates her house with--did you say 10,000 lights?!--for the holidays. She also dresses up as Mrs. Claus. What a sweetie and then tells me as I am leaving "Did I not say I like hugs"? yikes, sounded like me; scary! ha But what a joy--children and I hugged her and her mom.
Met a nice lady in the Atlanta regional lib. who overhead I spoke Chinese and carried on a convo with me. I am so glad I inspired her that there are folks who want more and do more than the "same-o, same-o".
Today's resourcefulness:
(that I can remember)
Salvation Army--free food and voucher for clothing (got to use the voucher next wk since I was in the neighborhood for Red Cross)
Red Cross--ss # for one child, food stamps
yeah, I went ahead and did it. Can't eat--chew on my pride. I have to look at it this way: we are evacuees--or remember my word "flee-ee" which I used on a man who was "interviewing" me, ha.
Gift card from Walmart (not a bad amount either. Can definitely use that, nah, I won't use it all up on yarn, ha)
Got a new library card for this county.
what else? look, I don't know; I am just walking it all out--sometimes, moment by moment.
Learning the city, fer sure! Resourcefulness to the max.
I crocheted while I was waiting in Red Cross and spoke with people. Tomorrow, I hope to sport my new denim, spangled bag with fun fur and incredible ribbon as fringes. Looking fab! I just wish I knew how to post pictures on a public computer.
Thanks for all your comments!!!!!!
Another day in the life of a MS evacuee/flee-ee who is glad for life....amen

Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile
